Visiting Graves and Forwarding Rewards: The Ahl-e-Sunnah View on Iesaal-e-Sawaab

Okarvi

In the belief of Ahle Sunnat, Iesaal-e-Sawaab (forwarding rewards to the deceased) is an act of mercy, love, and continuous charity. The Quraan Kareem and Hadees Shareef affirm that when we recite Quraan, make duaa, give charity, distribute food, or do any good deed with the intention of passing on the reward, the deceased surely benefits from it. Visiting the graves of pious servants of Allaah Almighty brings blessings, as it reminds us of the Hereafter and connects us with their legacy of faith. Scholars of Islaam are unanimous on this noble practice, declaring it a way of strengthening ties between the living and those who have returned to their Lord. Indeed, Iesaal-e-Sawab is a source of comfort for the deceased and spiritual elevation for the living.
