Brief History of Hazrat Saiyyidinaa Ali /Alee
(Karramal Laahu Wajhu)
Saying of Rasoolul Laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]'I am the city of knowledge and 'Alee is its gate',
HIS FATHER: His father was Hazrat Abu Taalib and grandfather was Abdul Mutallib. Abu Taalib was the uncle of the Prophet Muhammad [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam].
HIS MOTHER: His mother's name was Faatimaah bint Asad, bin Haashim, bin Abd Munaaf. Her Janazaah [Funeral Prayers] was performed by Rasoolul laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam], and he gave his blessed Qamees (Kurta Mubaarak) to be used as her Kaffan (burial garment). He prepared her grave and first he himself laid down in her grave, so that it will be comfortable for her in the grave, and so that she may be adorned in the Garb of Jannat.
HIS BIRTH: Hazrat Alee/Ali [Radiyal Laahu Anhu] was born on a Friday the 13th of Rajab. His birth occurred 30 years after the incident of Feel [The Elephants]. He was born inside the Holy Kabaah, and none has been blessed with this excellence before him.
When Hazrat Alee/Ali [Radiyal Laahu Anhu] was five years old, the Prophet Muhammad [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] kept him at his blessed home and took care of him. He was thus groomed in the home of the Prophet Muhammad [Peace e upon Him] until he was ten years old.
HIS FEATURES: Hazrat Ali/Alee [Radiyal Laahu Anhu] was of excellent built and not very tall in height. He was tan in color and very handsome. His face was very beautiful and would always be shining like the full moon. He had huge, black shining eyes. His shoulders were broad and well built like that of a lion. His beard was long and full. His body was very muscular.His hands and wrists were very strong and firm. If he gripped anyone with his hands, the person would not be able to breath. His thighs and legs were also very strong and firm. He walked very swiftly in the manner that the Prophet Muhammad [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] walked.
HE ACCEPTS ISLAAM: Almighty Allaah commanded the Prophet Muhammad [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] to propagate Islaam amongst his family first and to correct their habits and behavior. This, the Prophet did and he first invited to Islaam, Hazrat Bibi Khadeejaah [Radiyal Laahu Anha] and Hazrat Abu Bakr Sideeq [Radiyal Laahu Anhu]. He also invited Hazrat Ali/Alee [Radiyal Laahu Anhu] who happily accepted Islaam. He was the first amongst the youth (children) to accept Islaam.

حضرت شاہ عبد العزیز محدث دہلوی رحمۃ اللہ علیہ تحفہ اثنا عشریہ مطبوعہ نول کشور کے صفحہ 79 پر لکھتے ہیں: " مشهور یہ ہے کہ أهل جاهلیت کا معمول تھا کہ پندرہ رجب المرجب کو کعبہ مکرمہ کا دروازہ کھول کر اس کے اندر آکر زیارت کرتے- حضرت عیسٰی علیہ السلام کی پیدائش بھی اسی روز واقع هوئی هے لهذا اس کو یوم الاستفتاح اور روزہ مریم بھی کہتے ہیں-اور مشائخ کرام نے اس روز اوراد و اذکار مقرر کیے ہوئے ہیں- معمول یہ تھا کہ قبل ازیں ایک دو روز عورتیں زیارت کو آتیں-اتفاقا عورتوں کی زیارت کے روز آپ ( حضرت علی رضی اللہ عنہ) کی والدہ ماجدہ حضرت فاطمہ بنت اسد (رضی اللہ عنہا) نے باوجودیکہ مدت حمل تمام هو چکی تھی، زیارت کا ارادہ کیا- کیوں کہ سال میں یہ دن ایک بار هی نصیب هوتا-آپ سخت دشواری اور کمال تکلیف و مشقت سے کعبہ معظمہ کے دروازے تک پہنچیں- ان دنوں کعبہ مکرمہ کا دروازہ بقدر قد آدم بلند تھا جیسا کہ اب بھی ہـے - لیکن ان دنوں میں کوئی زینہ نہ تھا اور عورتوں کو بمشکل تمام مرد اس جگہ تک لاتے- چنانچہ اس حالت میں آپ کو درد زہ شروع هوگیا، اس خیال سے کہ شاید ابھی آرام آ جائے گا، زیارت سے کیوں محروم رهوں، در کعبہ میں آتے ہی درد میں شدت آگئی اور امیر المومنین سیدنا علی رضی اللہ عنہ کی ولادت کا واقعہ هوا- یہ ایک اتفاقی امر هے. ...... یہ واقعہ 13 رجب جمعہ کے دن هوا- أصحاب فیل کے واقعہ کو تیس برس گزرے تھے-
حکیم بن حزام رضي الله عنه ( حضرت سیدہ خدیجہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا کے بھتیجے) کی ولادت بھی کعبہ معظمہ میں هوئی-
