Hazrat Ali/Alee [Radiyal Laahu

 Anhu].attained great knowledge from the holy court of Rasoolul

 laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]. Hazrat Abu Amaar [Radiyal

 Laahu Anhu] reports that Hazrat Alee...

said, “Ask me whatever you wish from the Quraan.

There is no Ayaat that I am not aware of. I even know whether it was

 revealed during the day or night, or it was revealed on soft our

 mountainous land.”

Hazrat Ali/Alee [Radiyal Laahu Anhu]….narrated hundreds of Ahadees. His knowledge,

 wisdom and decisions were so great that Hazrat Umar a-Farooq [Radiyal Laahu Anhu] says,

“The best judge amongst all the Sahaabah is Hazrat Alee 

[Karramal Laahu Wajhahul Kareem]

Hazrat Saeed ibn Habeeb [Radiyal Laahu Anhu] says, 

“There was no person in Madeenah except Hazrat Ali/Alee 

who could say, ‘Ask me whatever you want to know’”

Hazrat Abdul laah ibn Mas'ood [Radiyal Laahu Anhu]was also the possessor of great knowledge, but he too used to openly announce the following,

“None has more knowledge of the Faraa'iz than Alee [Radiyal Laahu Anhu] and none has more understanding than him.”

Hazrat Ali/Alee [Radiyal Laahu Anhu].says, “If I wished to compile the commentary of Soorah Faatihah, then I would be able to load 40 camels with books (from this Tafseer).”

RULING OF AHLE SUNNAT WA JAMAA'AT REGARDING VISTING MAZAARAAT.

                      Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam) have said:
"I had previously forbidden you to visit graves, but I now permit you to visit them, for it will remind you of the Hereafter."
Hadees Shareef
Aqeedah of Ahle Sunnat Wa Jamaa'at …regarding visiting the Blessed Shrines of Auliyaa Allaah.
It is permissible to make [Intercession] Waseela’s of Prophets and their inheritors –Auliyaa’s' and Pious Muslims-...to approach Allaah Ta'aalaa with their help.
Rasoolul Laah (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam)….have said:
"ALLAAH [Ta’aalaa] gives and I am the (Muhammad) is the distributer".[Sallal Laahu Alaiehi Wa Sallam]

Faaiez [Blessing] emanates from the soul of a Walee to the heart of a person who thinks of him and makes a Waseela of him while visiting the grave of that Walee. The weaker of the two souls gains strength.
This is the reason why visiting graves was forbidden in the beginning of Islaam, since the dead in the graves belonged to the Jahiliyya Ages at that time.
It was permitted later when there were dead Muslims who could be visited.
One will be thinking about the Prophet or the Parents or Walee when visiting his grave.
