HOW SHOULD A MUSLIM OBSERVE EID-UL-FITR

Eid-ul-Fitr refers to the festival after completion of fasting in the Month of Ramadaan. This auspicious occasion is celebrated on the 1st of Shawwaal ul Mukarram which is the 10th month of the Islaamic calendar. The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr is a manner of showing appreciation and gratitude to Almighty Allaah for all that He has bestowed upon us.

On the morning of Eid-ul-Fitr, Muslims throughout the world perform the traditional Eid Salaah, which is Waajib upon all Muslims. It is not permissible to miss the Eid prayer without any valid reason. With the exception of performing the Eid Prayer, there are also various actions which are desirable on the day of Eid

.
These are:
to trim the hair and nails
to perform the Ghusl (Ceremonial Bath),
to use the Miswaak (special toothbrush),
to wear (if affordable) or good clean clothing, and to use Ittar (Perfume),
to perform the Fajr Salaah (morning prayer) in the nearest Mosque of your area,
to leave early to perform the Eid Salaah,
to give the Sadaqa-e-Fitr (Eid-ul-Fitr Charity) before the Eid Salaah,
to go by foot (if possible) for the Eid Salaah, and return home in another route,
to eat a few dates (preferably an odd number) or something sweet before going for Eid Salaah, and
to show happiness and gratification, to give charity in abundance, to walk modestly towards the Eid gathering, and to wish and congratulate one another after the Eid Prayer.

As much as Eid is a time of rejoicing, it is also a time of giving and sharing with those less fortunate than yourself. The Holy Prophet Muhammad [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] would always be the first to congratulate the poor and the orphans. We should also try to be as kind as possible on this day to our fellow Muslims. The Holy Prophet [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] has stated, "Smiling in the face of your brother is Charity."

Concept of Happiness in Eid

The concept of Eid is attached with happiness and happiness comes from success. Success is not what we declare as success. Success is in fact that which
Allaah Ta’aalaa states is success.
The count of days of the month of Ramadaan, are completing.
Laielatul Jaa’izah (first new moon of the night of Shawwaal) is coming.
Did we make Allaah Taa’aalaa and the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaiehi Wa Sallam happy?

Charity in Ramadan

“The Prophet Muhammad [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] was the most generous amongst the people, and he used to be more so in the month of Ramadaan when Hazrat Jibraaeel [Aaliehis Salaam]visited him, and He used to meet him on every night of Ramadaan till the end of the month. The Prophet Muhammad [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] used to recite the Holy Qur’aan to Hazrat Jibraaeel [Alaiehis Salaam], and when Hazrat Jibraaeel [Alaiehis Salaam] met him, he used to be more generous than a fast wind (which causes rain and welfare). Hazrat Saiyyidinaa Alee/Ali (Karramal Laahu Wajhu)

13th Rajab –Date of Birth-Honoring and Remembering the Great Imaam.
He was the first cousin of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him), father of  Hazrat Imaam Hasan and the greatest Martyr Imaam Husaien, [Radiyal Laahu Anhuma] the Lion of God, Gateway of Knowledge, the mightiest of mighty; does not need an introduction,

He was at the same time master of the Pen and Sword — a rare combination. Even today in the battle fields the Cry of “Yaa Alee !” resounds, invoking his help.

There are many historical incidences where Hazrat Ali was always at the Prophet Muhammad’s [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] side working to forward the cause of Allaah Kareem. This meant not only educating the new Muslims about the fresh revelations but also defending the believers from the opposition to this new faith.

HIS BRAVERY: Hazrat Abaas [Radiyal Laahu Anhu] says, “Hazrat Alee [Radiyal Laahu Anhu] was the bravest amongst the people.”

Hazrat Abu Dharr [Radiyal Laahu Anhu] reports that before Hijrat, when the Kufaar were planning to martyr the Prophet [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam].
Sleeping that night on the blessed bed of the Prophet [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] [as per instruction of the Prophet] showed his bravery and his faith in the Holy Prophet [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam].
“ Hazrat Alee [Radiyal Laahu Anhu] was one of the most courageous and able men in the Muslim army. He was appointed the standard-bearer at the battles of both Badr and Khaybar.

He partook in all the great battles except in the Battle of Tabook. “Hazrat Ali was never defeated in a war or a combat throughout his life.
His physical strength was beyond human comprehension. He went forward in the Love of Allaah Kareem and His Rasool [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] and uprooted the Door of the Fort of Khaibar with his bare hands and used it as a shield.

After the battle, forty strong men together could not move the door from where it has kept by Hazrat Alee [Radiyal Laahu Anhu] When asked about his wonderful display of strength, in removing the doors, Hazrat Alee  [radiyal Laahu Anhu]replied that it was his Spiritual power.”

Brief History of Hazrat Saiyyidinaa Ali /Alee (Karramal Laahu Wajhu)

Brief History of Hazrat Saiyyidinaa Ali /Alee

(Karramal Laahu Wajhu)

Saying of Rasoolul Laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]'I am the city of knowledge and 'Alee is its gate',

HIS FATHER: His father was Hazrat Abu Taalib and grandfather was Abdul Mutallib. Abu Taalib was the uncle of the Prophet Muhammad [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam].
HIS MOTHER: His mother's name was Faatimaah bint Asad, bin Haashim, bin Abd Munaaf. Her Janazaah [Funeral Prayers] was performed by Rasoolul laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam], and he gave his blessed Qamees (Kurta Mubaarak) to be used as her Kaffan (burial garment). He prepared her grave and first he himself laid down in her grave, so that it will be comfortable for her in the grave, and so that she may be adorned in the Garb of Jannat.

Hazrat Ali

HIS BIRTH: Hazrat Alee/Ali [Radiyal Laahu Anhu] was born on a Friday the 13th of Rajab. His birth occurred 30 years after the incident of Feel [The Elephants]. He was born inside the Holy Kabaah, and none has been blessed with this excellence before him.

When Hazrat Alee/Ali [Radiyal Laahu Anhu] was five years old, the Prophet Muhammad [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] kept him at his blessed home and took care of him. He was thus groomed in the home of the Prophet Muhammad [Peace e upon Him] until he was ten years old.

HIS FEATURES: Hazrat Ali/Alee [Radiyal Laahu Anhu] was of excellent built and not very tall in height. He was tan in color and very handsome. His face was very beautiful and would always be shining like the full moon. He had huge, black shining eyes. His shoulders were broad and well built like that of a lion. His beard was long and full. His body was very muscular. His hands and wrists were very strong and firm. If he gripped anyone with his hands, the person would not be able to breath. His thighs and legs were also very strong and firm. He walked very swiftly in the manner that the Prophet Muhammad [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] walked.

HE ACCEPTS ISLAAM: Almighty Allaah commanded the Prophet Muhammad [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] to propagate Islaam amongst his family first and to correct their habits and behavior. This, the Prophet did and he first invited to Islaam,  Hazrat Bibi Khadeejaah [Radiyal Laahu Anha] and Hazrat Abu Bakr Sideeq [Radiyal Laahu Anhu]. He also invited Hazrat Ali/Alee [Radiyal Laahu Anhu] who happily accepted Islaam. He was the first amongst the youth (children) to accept Islaam.

6th Rajab ul Murajjab URS Mubaarak of Hazrat Khawaajah Saiyyid Mu'een ud deen Hasan Chishti Sajizi Ajmeri Sarkaar Gareeb Nawaaz (Radiyal Laahu 'Anhu)

Translated Lecture of Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Shafee Okarvi [Rahmatul Laah Alaieh]...continue

Passed Into the Realm of Divine Beauty
He had fulfilled his duty, as per instruction of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him, his family and his companions). His Karamaat's are many and status is indescribable. When Khawaajah Saahib [Rahmatul Laah Alaieh] passed into the realm of Divine Beauty [on the 6 Rajab 633 AH/1233 AD] at the age of 97 the unseen hand had inscribed on his forehead,
He Is A Beloved Of Allaah Kareem Who Died In The Love Of Allaah [Ta’aalaa]. He was buried in Ajmer and his blessed Mazaar is present up to this day.

Devotees
Many Karamaat’s emanated from him and millions are his devotees, being disciples of his disciples. Many relics have been preserved. King Auranzeb Alamgeer being the king of Hindustan, visited the blessed Mazaar four times, journeying on foot. On his way to the Mazaar Shareef he made numerous donations and gifts to the poor and needy.

Jahaan Araa Begum, the daughter of Shaah Jehaan, a great devotee of Khawaajah Saahib came to the Mazaar and at each stop she read two chapters of Qur’aan, Soorah Yaaseen, and Faatihah; and donated much to the poor and needy.

When King Jahangeer came to the Mazaar  Shareef but 2 miles before the mazaar he walked out of respect and reverence of Khawaajah Saahib. He gave much to the poor and needy and of the two huge pots used for cooking up to this day, the smaller was his gift to the Dargaah premises. Shaah Jehaan built the Marble Mosque and Sultaan Mahmuud Hindi built many portions of the Dargaah. Many kings came and left remembrances of their visit. Of the two huge pots, Mughal Akbar donated the biggest. All these gifts are preserved up to the present time.

The supreme remembrance is the lesson to future generations, how The People of Almighty Allaah lived and how they propagated Islaam. The lesson of how amidst Polytheism (shirk) and Misbelief (kufr) the lamp of Islaam was lit. Khawaajah Saahib’s status is so great that he is the King of the Chishteeyah Spiritual Order. His spiritual benevolence blessings flow up to this day. Remember these people do not die, but are freed of physical restrictions and their spiritual benevolence and blessings get stronger. Allaah Kareem willing their spiritual benevolence and blessings will be with us till the Day Of Reckoning. This is a separate topic but remember that the Tasarruf [Free Disposal or dispensing. The Perfect Man governs the affairs of the world and controls them by means of Divine Names. This is attained through directing of his spiritual energy.] That they attain from Allaah Kareem as I explained in previous lectures in which Almighty Allaah says, ‘I become their hands etc.’ then their physical senses and power becomes unlimited, though dependent on Allaah Kareem.
Tell me is this excellence of theirs Spiritual (Ruhaani) or physical (jismaani)? If your answer is Spiritual (Ruhaani), which is correct, then tell me does the Spirit Or Soul (Rooh) die?
No! Death is the separation of the soul from the body. If the soul is so powerful within the cage of the soul then how powerful must it be after being freed from this bodily cage? Those that say Auliyaa Allaah are dead and their power has ceased are themselves dead, for the people of Allaah [Ta’aalaa], never die.
The Lovers of Allaah attain eternal life. Remember their tasarrufaat increases after death. Khawaajah Saahib is one such Walee whose ability to change conditions (tasarrufaat) exists to this day and will be so forever.
Hazrat Ghaus Al-A’zam, Hazrat Bahaa ud deen Naqshbandi and all these great Auliyaa Allaah are alive and interfere in constitution up to this day and will, God willing till eternity. Believe in them and love them. Their love is the essence of faith and a means of salvation.
In five salaah we pray’ ‘O Allaah Kareem guide us along the straight path, the path of those whom You shower Your blessings upon.’ These Auliyaa Allaah are those upon whom Allaah showers His blessings. . The Holy Qur'aan says in the 4th Soorah, An-Nisaa Verse 69:

…those whom Allaah [Ta’aalaa] has blessed viz. the Prophets (who teach), the Truthful, the Witnesses to The Truth (Martyrs and those who bear witness), and the Righteous (who do good)

Are the Auliyaa Allaah in this category of blessed ones or not? We ask in five salaah that Allaah (Almighty and Glorious is He) should keep us on their path. Keep on their path, methodology and pattern of belief. These Spiritual Orders ushered in the correct belief so keep on this path and do not be fooled by the distracters. We will send salutations on the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him, his family and his companions), pray to Allaah Kareem and present ourselves at the Mazaar and, as Maulana had mentioned, we will present our gifts.
